Essential Packing Guide: What to Bring on Your Chesapeake Bay Charter Experience

Welcome to Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay! 

Maryland summers are reliably warm and humid – generally sunny or a bit overcast, about 82 degrees in spring and fall, and warmer into the 90’s in summer. (Link). 

Check with the charter company you choose, but we routinely have aboard complimentary: 

  • Water
  • A limited supply of assorted soft drinks
  • A limited supply of ice
  • A limited supply of cups, plastic glasses, plates and utensils
  • Paper towels
  • Wine corkscrew
  • Bluetooth speaker

  • Bimini shade
  • Sunscreen
  • Plastic ponchos – just in case
  • First Aid kit

What should/can you bring?

  • Cooler with ice (not large or heavy please)
  • Cold drinks – Non-alcoholic
  • Beer, wine, coolers – best not do liquor shots (Link)
  • Food and Snacks

  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen (Lip too)
  • Hats – ear shading
  • Complete covering
  • Binoculars
  • Cameras!

  • Swimsuits
  • Towels
  • Goggles

  • Secure bag for cell phones, wallets, purses etc., preferably floatable and can be tied onto the boat
  • Portable charger/power bank for your devices
  • Medications
  • Personal stuff
  • A sense of wonder and adventure!

What should you NOT bring?

  • Glass items (Link)
  • A lot of plastic trash
  • Any smoking material or lighters (Link)

We’re glad to accommodate any requests (no promises though) and we focus on your enjoyment and safety first. Yes, the crew accepts tips for excellent service. Also, we cherish the Chesapeake Bay and are very proud of our vessels – please help us take care of them all!
